Presented by Steve Piper, CISSP, CEO & Founder, CyberEdge Group

Cybersecurity professionals have endured many challenges this year, including record-setting ransomware attacks, expanded attack surfaces, and shortages of skilled IT security personnel. However, we’ve seen security budgets rebound, increased reliance on cloud security deployments, and increased adoption of promising security technologies, such as zero trust network access (ZTNA), API security, and network/endpoint deception. So, what does next year have in store for the cybersecurity industry? Join Steve Piper, Founder & CEO of CyberEdge (and proud CISSP), as he shares his top five cybersecurity predictions for 2023.

Abstract: The rapid migration of organizations to use Microsoft's cloud services such as Exchange Online and Teams forced security teams to make compromises, specifically in lengthening their identity supply chains and sometimes exposing critical identity infrastructure to compromises. In a December 2020 report, the US NSA gave everyone a very clear and dire warning, simplify those cloud identity supply chains or suffer from increasing attacks. In this session, Aaron Turner will review how the NSA's report was prescient in its warning, how organizations have had to react to increasing cloud identity attacks, and strategies for how to reduce cloud identity vulnerabilities.

Speaker: Aaron Turner

Bio: Aaron is a multi-decade veteran of the cybersecurity world. Beginning as a white hat pen tester in the early 90's, he went on to work at Microsoft for over 7 years on many security products and serving as an internal security consultant in the delivery of many Microsoft services. He later was asked by the US Government to join an elite team of cybersecurity researchers at the Idaho National Lab. Over the last 15 years, he has been a serial entrepreneur, developing security solutions and bringing them to market.
